4th of July Camping!!

Here we are camping on the 4th of July weekend. We were able to visit everyone in the family, even Grandma Billi came out to see us all. It was extremely nice and fun to see everyone :) The weather wasn't too hot so we were able to sit around and relax, visit, and play with the kids. We were also able to meet Nikki's fiance, Troy and his kids. It was really nice to meet him and he seems like a really amazing guy! They will be married on July 31st. I'm so excited for them.

7 Month Old Scarlett!!

I am a big 7 month old girl! I was up camping on my 7 month birthday and it was sooo much fun. I got to see all of my cousins, grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles, and great grandma Billi. I loved looking at all the leaves on the trees but had a hard time taking nappies because of all the noise and playing. I love being camping and hope that we go again soon!

I had the greatest birthday ever this year.. Look how cute Andy and Boston decorated the kitchen for me! It's soooo cute and I love Hello Kitty! they even made me my favorite cake (the kind with the sprinkles in it, you know the colored spots). I got some new shoes and some new clothes!! What more could a girl ask for. That night we went to dinner and a movie.. it was really relaxing, I loved it! Thanks Andy for such a great birthday :)

Park City with the kids

When we got back from our vacation in Washington and California, we wanted to take the kids out to do something fun the next day. So we went up to park city and let Boston ride his bike around and Scarlett hang out in the shade. Boston found these really cool ramps to go up and down and up and down and loved it! It's so nice to be back with the kids, we sure did miss them :)

Oregon Coast and San Francisco

The drive from Washington into Oregon. We took highway 101 through the little town along the coast, got lost a couple of times but we did see some truly amazing views!

Here we are in San Francisco on the boat tour of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. It was a really awesome tour and fun being out on the extremely choppy water of the bay.

Bottom picture is of Alcatraz Island.. Very interesting history.. did you know that the native americans that lived in the area moved onto the island in the late 60's and claimed it as their property.. then continued to fight with the government of California for years over who owned the land. California government eventually won and which point it was converted into a monument of sorts.

Here we are arriving early for the SF Giants game. It was father's day and so they were handing out these really awesome Giants ties in these really cool boxes. We got two :) It was really hot that day and so we got pretty sun burned, good thing the girls behind us were smarter than us and brought some sun screen!

Mariners Game in Seattle with Yury, Levi and Emma!!

After making our way back from the coast (La Push and Forks) we stopped in Seattle to see Yury and family one last time to enjoy some yummy hot dogs, peanuts, and atmosphere! It was a really intense game and Seattle won so the crowd was going crazy.. It was a really fun night!

Forks and La Push

So for those of you who don't know what Twilight is, it takes place mainly in Forks WA. But the main character has an Native American friend that lives on a reservation in La Push. So we thought while we were out in Seattle visiting Yury and family that we might as well go visit the hot spots of these books.

We began our drive from Port Angeles to Forks which ended up being about an hour. We got to Forks and almost drove through it, it was such a tiny city. Good thing there were signs :) and Twilight stuff everywhere. Here are some pictures from Forks:

This is supposed to be the truck that Bella drives. But I don't think that it would look like this.. But let's remember the actual Forks WA is basing everything off the book not the movie :)

The town deemed this Bella and Charlie's house. There is not sign and people actually liver here so when you go to ask where it's at, they tell you to not knock on the door. We were not the only Twilight freaks visiting Forks. It was basically a caravan or visitors from all over the place. CRAZY!!

Carlisle Cullen even was issued is very own parking spot. In the spot was a motorcycle, which I really don't think Dr. Cullen would've driven, but whatever. You can tell that the town is pushing the limit on this thing to try and drive as much tourist money as they possibly can. Not that we had to pay to see any of this stuff, but they reap the rewards in other ways I'm sure. It's good for their little economy :)

This is supposed to be the Cullen's house. The only problem I had with it was that it was in the middle of forks and not in the mountains or hidden away like the book describes it. This house is actually an Inn and I'm guessing that they get a lot of business claiming to be the Cullen residence... Good thinking on their part!

The next pictures are of La Push, the Indian reservation where Jacob lives. Bella visits him often in 'New Moon'. The movie for this book is due to come out this November!! yayay... but putting the book aside, La Push has some really awesome beaches and is a really cool reservation.

Can you see the wolf howling at the moon? SOOO Crazy that this is actually on the La Push - First Beach!! Irony, it's a killer!

We got some Vampire Vanilla ice cream cones on the way back in to Port Angeles. The girl at the register freaked out when the boy helping us with our order got us large cones instead of smalls (we had a coupon for two free small cones). She was so angry with him.. hopefully he didn't get in trouble... what a stupid thing to get mad about.

Rainforest of the Northwest

This was our hiking day. It was slightly overcast with a breeze which felt good while hiking. The drive into the Olympic Peninsula was breath taking. The trees just kept getting bigger and bigger the closer we got. It was like you were being swallowed up by a big green monster.. and no kids, we're not talking Oscar the Grouch hahaha. We drove around Crescent Lake which is where one of our hikes started up to Marymere Falls. It wasn't a long hike but it was so beautiful. If you do go to Seattle I would highly recommend the 3 hour driver to see the Olympic Peninsula!

We then went on another hike which took you to the back side of the Hoh Rainforest, which is the most beautiful place in the world (well of what I've seen of the world, which isn't much yet haha) It was so green and beautiful.. Moss cascading off the trees and little animals all over the place and it just seemed so untouched, even with a trail. The two hikes were probably my favorite part of the trip.. soooo beautiful, like you walked into another planet. Check out the pics

I thought that this looked kinda like the tunnel in the Harry Potter movie and so I told Andy to act like there were dementors after him - that's why he's looking like he's scared/shocked/screaming hahaha - he needed a little inspiration for the picture :)

Arriving in Port Angeles - Vampire territory!

We've arrived in Port Angeles, WA - getting closer to vampire and wolf territory by the minute and still not sighting.. WAIT a sec... as we head up to our room at the Tudor Inn, we see them.. Waiting... Longing... Smelling our blood... could it be?!!??!?! have we found them? VAMPIRES!!!! hahaha.. so the place that we stayed at in Port Angeles had a Twilight package.. I love the Twilight books and the movie, pretty much everything that has to do with Twilight and I love it.. and I'm lucky enough to have a husband who loves it just as much as me! It was so fun to start the climb up the stairs to our room and to see Edward and Bella standing at the top with cut little apples at their feet. On our bet were vampire mints and no they didn't taste like blood or even minty blood haha and there was twilight chapstick and a twilight magnet. We were in heaven :) Not only was the Tudor Inn the cutest place in the world and the owner, Betsy was the nicest most welcoming person that I've meet in a long time, we had Twilight stuff all around us.. Books and pictures and a picture book.. it was really cute. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying there if you want a relaxing place to crash and amazing breakfast served to you in the morning.

The night that we arrived, we had dinner reservations at the Bella Italia, which is the same restaurant that Edward and Bella ate at when Bella (from my perception) fell in love with Edward. It was an amazing restaurant with great food.. I got the lasagna..mmmm tasty! and there was garlic bread and a salad and then there was a desert at the end.. a sundae I believe.

We stayed there for two nights while we traveled around hiking and checking out the cities of Forks, Port Angeles and La Push. I would love to go back there again and visit with Betsy...

In Port Angeles they had a ship called 'Dazzled by Twilight' where people in love with Twilight could easily walk out of there spending 200 dollars... eek! We did pretty well and walked out with a shirt each and two glasses that say 'Got Twilight' haha cute huh and a sticker and I think Andy got a magnet or something. Anyways.. it was a really cute store, decorated in all Twilight stuff with a tree and apples and all kinds of stuff symbolic of the movie.

Touring Seattle

On this day we went into downtown Seattle to see some of the Museums ans the Space Needle. We got a late start and so we didn't get to do as much as we had planned to do on this day, but oh well, it was a nice day anyway! We went to the Space Needle first and didn't really take any pictures while up in the observation deck. Up on the observation deck we called Yury (at work at the time) and told him where we were.. He had is binoculars with him in the office and was able to see us waiving at him from the Space Needle.. haha how cool is that. After being on the observation deck of the empire state building, the height of the Space Needle wasn't all that impressive. But it was an interesting building and there was a really great view of the city from the observation deck.

After the Space Needle we then met Yury and Caryn and family for lunch at a tiny Pho resturant. I had never had Pho before and it was extremely good.. I got Curry and Andy got the Pho and then we shared our food so that we could have some of each. After lunch we headed to the Science Fiction Museum A.K.A. nerd heaven!! There was so much stuff there and they wouldn't let you take pictures of anything so that's why there nothing but the cool outside of the building on this blog. But there was a ton of stuff to see. Another part of the same building was the Music Project. There was this huge sculpture in the middle of the Music Project building made out of every kind of guitar ever made... it was sooooo cool - I wish I couldn't at least taken a picture of that. There was an area that went through the musical history or the Northwest and who came from Seattle and what they did and how they contributed to the music stylings of the generation. There was also this really awesome room that went through the life of Jimmy Hendrix and showed clips of him playing and different things that he accomplished in his life as well as old guitars that he used and outfits he would wear to his concerts.

There was a Jim Henson section where they went through the initial drawings and ideas that Jim had before actually making Sesame Street. They had some puppets that the kids were able to play with, but other than that, it was a lot of seeing what he did and how it all came to be.

We were all so exhausted after walking around all over the place that we went home rather early. It was nice, we relaxed and watched some TV before bed and visited with everyone.

Bainbridge Island WA

We took a ferry out to Bainbridge Island, it was about a 30 minute ferry ride out to the island. Once we got there, we found this nice seafood resturant overlooking the marina. It was so pretty and we had so much fun exploring, eating, visiting, laughing. It was a really good trip and I already miss hanging out with Yury and Caryn and their family.. I hope that we'll be able to go visit them again soon.

We stopped at this little bead shop in town because Isabelle and Emma are way into beading right now. All of us girls kinda went crazy in there looking for cute little charms and unique beads it took me back to when I was like 11 or so and I used to beg my mom to take me to the bead shop. The boys sat in the corner and talked baseball haha.. It was a really great trip and as you can see, really pretty and fun ;)

Woodland Zoo - Seattle

The Woodland Zoo was extremely nice, much better than Hoogle Zoo, although I can't imagine that a zoo could be any worse than Hoogle Zoo. There were so many animals to see and their cages that they had the animals in were hug.e and they looked as though they were really in their own habitate. It was still a little sad seeing the animals caged up like that.. I try not to think about that while going through a zoo otherwise I become all depressed about the poor animals stuck in the cages.. Anyway - We saw a lot of stuff in a short amount of time, it was perfect, sunny weather, but the way that they have the zoo laid out, you were alway in the shade and it was like walking through a jungle in a lot of the parts. I would highly recommend visiting this zoo, lots of exotic birds and reptiles and animals of all kinds.

Alki Beach, Washington with Yury, Caryn, Levi, Isabelle, Emma, and baby Jack

We made it to Washington!! An extremely long drive but we made it. The first thing on the agenda was to check out Alki Beach which allows you to view the Seattle Skyline. Caryn made us some yummy Chicken salad and we had a picnic on the beach. I was an overcast day but it was still extremely pretty and the atmosphere in this part of Washington was rather, laid back, hippy style. Here is Levi driving his remote control car around in the rocks. What a handsome guy!

Baby Jack (top, with Caryn and bottom, with Yury) is the cutest little boy! He has the a really sweet temperment and would never really cry.. he would just do these soft cries when he got hungry or tired. Not that he doesn't scream or bawl I'm sure, but he was extremely good and calm while we were there. But then again, we are used to the screaming at the top of her lungs, most needy thing on the planet, baby Scarlett :)

Here was our view of the city. It was getting pretty dark with the cloud cover even though it wasn't that early.

Here's sweet Isabelle and Yury behind her looking out at the city skyline. Yury was telling us about the ferries that shuttle people back and forth from all the different islands and various cities as well as the huge loading boats that they use to ship the big crates with.

From this picture you can tell that the downtown portion of Seattle actually sites a little ways from the Space Needle, which I didn't know. The Space Needle is the third largest building in Seattle.. But when it was built, in 1962 it was the largest building on the West Coast.

I wish that these crabs would've been alive. They were actually dead and just had washed up on the shore. We also found jellyfish caps and Emma and Isabelle were able to catch alive jellyfish simply by scooping up some of the waves that hit the shore line!! you could barely see that they were there.. It was like looking and little tiny pulsating dots in the form of a circle. I've included a picture below.

Hermiston Oregon - Hi Grandpa Pat, we miss you!!

We traveled through Hermiston Oregon to visit Andy's dad's house and to see how his house looked now and to reflect on his life. It has been a little over a year since his passing and it's really sad to think that our kids will never get to know their Grandpa Pat. Good thing we have some good stories for them and we were able to get to know Pat when we were able to visit with each other. He was such a warm hearted, kind man. WE MISS YOU!! I thought that these sunset pictures of Hermiston were so beautiful and they were just a little ways down the road from his house, where there is a clearing. We ate at the diner/bar that he would go to every night and asked the waitresses if they knew him or had talked with him. We weren't able to find anyone that knew him that night, we were looking for some good stories/memories.

Not only can I break dance, I can now ride my bike without training wheels!!!!

Today is the best day ever!! I learned to ride my bike without training wheels!! Because I had ridden my bike so much since I got it, I needed a new back tire. So mom and dad went to different stores to try to find one that would fit my extra small tire.. they don't carry them in the stores I guess, I'm pretty sure that Santa Clause would have been able to find one. But my mom and dad had to order one on the internet and dad promised me that as soon as the tire came in the mail that he would teach me how to ride my bike without training wheels.. I got so excited that I started to bug my mom and dad everyday asking if the tire had come in the mail yet. It finally came and I was so excited. Finally the new tire came and mom put the tire on and then dad started to try to help me ride and get my balance. I was already pretty much balancing on my bike, even with training wheels. I was able to pick it up in about 30 minutes and only fell twice! I am so proud of myself and I'm pretty sure that mom and dad are super excited for me... now all I want to do is ride my sweet red bike around and show everyone how cool I am! This really is the best day ever... oh yeah and I'm 5 now because I know how to ride a bike, so not only did I jump ahead by 2 years, I learned to ride by big boy bike without training wheels.. I'm a pretty cool kid!

Mom did my hair pretty cool, I sat in the mirror for about 2 minutes looking at myself and smiling.. then about 10 minutes later I went back to the mirror again to make sure I hadn't messed up my awesome hair.

Here I am acting like I'm so cool! When mom asks me to smile for the camera and show off some of my awesome break dancing moves, I just roll my eyes at her. She is so LAME sometimes, always wanting to take pictures of me doing cool stuff like this. I should start charging her!

Here I am demonstrating my killer floor combo.. I get on all fours and stick my butt in the air.. swing my right leg around and then I end up in the opposite direction that I started out in. I really should enter a competition, I would kill'em with this move! FO SHO!!!

When I get sick of picture I just give mom this gross growling face that makes me look like I'm going to attack her. She usually backs off after I throw this face at her, I think she's a little scared of me.... just the way I want it MWAHAHAHAHA!!!

I got a little tired of break dancing, I really need to work on getting some new moves and new combos... To clear my mind and get my creative juices flowing, I jump on the air climber and go to town... it's a great way to think and burn calories at the same time.. and check out my glut's!! BURN baby BURN!!

I'm a big 6 month old girl!!

I am half-way to being a big 1 year old today!!! I can't believe that I'm 6 months old! It's pretty exciting, when I woke up today I felt bigger! I have been soooo happy today, giggling and laughing and playing with my brother, it's been the best day ever. I can roll all the way over on bellies, I get kinda mad when that happens because mamma makes me work so hard to roll back over onto my back again. I reach for toys that are really really far away and somehow wiggle all the way over to them like an inch worm, on my back and on my belly.

Scarlett turned 5 months old today!! We had a busy day! I got cookie all over myself today and so mamma had to give me tubbies. I love my tubbies and today I made a real big mess all over the floor and the mirror and the counter, there was water everywhere!! After tubbies I had some bottles and then a nap and I didn't wake up too happy, good thing mamma and dadda were there to help me feel better on my 5 month birthday! My big brother Boston was really nice to me today too.. We got to watch some spongebob together and he even gave me loves on mamma and dadda's bed. He's the bestest big brother!

Scarlett's Baby Blessing

This blessing dress/outfit was mine and even the little dolly was mine. My mom cleaned it up and had whitened it so that it looked great. My grandma Mildon had given my mom this dress for me to be blessed in, along with the shoes. My mom has pictures of me just like this and so I thought it would be fun to take pictures of Scarlett in the same outfit with the same dolly in basically the same pose. Thanks mom for going to all this work for us today.. and for everything that you helped us out with for the blessing!!

Today was rather interesting... in fact, I think that they should make a comedy about it entitled 'the blessing day' or something like that haha. We woke up early and were early to church, come to find that we were at the wrong church. Andy and I walked around the church looking for out Bishop to sign some papers and get some information for the blessing. We found out that our ward had moved and we hadn't heard about it. Since I've been working on Sundays we've not been to church in a while and during that time the ward has split twice and moved locations. So we drove to three other churches before deciding that it was too late and basically hopeless to find the right church for the blessing. Andy and my dad went to locate the correct church and we stayed at the third church to stay for sacrament with the kids (Jess and Shelley, me and my mom and the kids). During sacrament Jess left with Miriam - and we later found them in the parking lot with Miriam hunched over looking like she was going to throw up. Shelley found a plastic bag to carry around with her in case she threw up in the car on the ride back to our house or during the blessing. We then also came to the realization that I didn't have a car to get home, because Andy and my dad had taken our car to go search for the correct church. My mom didn't have the keys to her car because my dad had them with him. So we all pilled into Jess and Shelley's Suburban and headed for our house. On the way to our house Andy and my dad passed us. So we turned around to find out what had happened and to let them know that we were all in the car with Jess and Shelley. Come to find out that Andy and my dad had gone to about every church in the stake and finally went back to our street to see if anyone was home. They found a neighbor that was home and asked where our ward now met. They found out that the church we are supposed to go to now is about 3 to 4 miles east of our house (totally didn't make any sense). They talked to the bishop and he said that he could do the blessing in his office while the other church meetings went on. So we all followed Andy to the correct church and made it there by like 10:30 am. Scarlett was then officially blessed and we laughed about the entire morning on our way to the correct church.. thinking of ways we could turn it into one of those church comedy movies. Laughing about the whole thing made it a lot less stressful that's for sure. Andy and I felt so bad about everything, so it was good to know that everyone was able to see the humor in it all.

We finally made it to our house and had some brunch - omletts and pancakes.. mmm it was nice to visit with everyone and relax while the kids played. The rest of the day was spent relaxing... I played Operation with Boston a couple of times after his nap, he had tubbies, watched Madagascar and then it was pretty much time for bed. What a busy crazy day!! Scarlett will have the most amazing blessing story ever, haha! Happy blessing day little girl :)

Snow in April and Scarlett's 4 month check up!!

We woke up this morning to find about 2 inches of snow on the ground and the mountains covered in snow with a beautiful sunrise :) The snow was unexpected, melted quickly but made a hard commute into work for Andy.

Scarlett's check up was in the afternoon, by then all the snow had melted from the lawn and roads, so it wasn't a dreadful drive to the Dr.'s office. Dr. Mumford said that she was doing great physically and developmentally.

Weight 12.45 lbs - 13th percential
Height 26 inches - 60th percential

So she's getting bigger but still lower than average in weight, which makes for a tall but tiny 4 month old girl. She liked the doctor until he pulled on her arms and then she was a little nervous. Then she got her shots and it just breaks your heart to have them cry like that. Poor thing had a rough night after that. Her left leg hurt pretty bad and she would start crying even with the smallest touch.

Real Soccer game with people from work - we had a off site with a few people from work and decided to go to the Real soccer game.. it was really fun actually and interesting to watch how talented the players were kicking a ball around. I only wish that Andy could've come with me :(

Easter 2009 - Colton Family Real Night

We had a lot of fun looking for easter eggs outside (even though it was raining) and hung out with family. Boston really loves his cousins and never gets tired of hanging out with Creed, Tate, Max, and Mason. We had a hot dog roast outside in a fire pit and made some smo'res. It was really fun and relaxing! The best part of the night was that my mom got up with Scarlett and Boston so that Andy and I could get some much need catch-up sleep :)

Happy 4 month birthday little girl! I can't believe that you're already 4 months old.. It seems like yesterday that we were hanging out in the hospital, just you and I, waiting for dadda and Big brother Boston to come visit us :)

She is rolling onto her sides, but not to belly's yet and has grown quite the personality. She has found her voice and will scream and giggle and scream when she's mad too.. she is really a fun baby, needy but fun and she has been sleeping almost all the way through the night. She will go to bed at 9 and not wake up until 6:30 in the morning. She loves tubbies and her changing table and has recently found her little toy radio rather interesting. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Going to the dentist for the first time!

Boston went to the dentist for the first time today.. he was a little nervous to go but once he was there he thought it was pretty cool! They counted his teeth, ten on top and ten on bottom and then they cleaned his teeth and he got to hold the sucker and called it his tiny vaccuum. He thought that it was pretty silly when they would spray water in his mouth and then laughed when the sucker made his lips jiggle and make funny noises. He was super brave and the dentist (Dr. Miller) was extremely gentle and sweet with him. He's a great guy (I've had him as my dentist since I was little). His teeth are great and look 'perfect', according to Dr. Miller. All in all it was a big day for our big boy :)

St Patricks Day Fun :)

We had a really fun St Paddy's day - Boston and Scarlett set up traps for the leprechaun's. My mom sent us some green fruitloops to set out as baid as well as some green strawberry baskets to use as the traps. I asked Boston if he wanted the traps set up in his bedroom and he said 'No, because they will wake me up'. So we set the traps (3 total) up out in the loft area of our house. We made a trail with the fruitloops to lure the leprechans in and then inside the trap Boston put a green car or truck in there, because he thought that they would like to take a drive in one of them.

- Andy put Boston to bed and I heard him ask him if the leprechauns were the size of boogars hahah and a bunch of other questions and comments about trapping them and getting gold. So after he went to sleep - I cut up a bunch of green foot prints out of paper and picked up the fruitloops and put the green foot prints in their place - then drove the green car and truck over by Boston's door so that he would see them first thing in the morning when he got up. In the traps I left big piles of pennies.

He woke up and thought it was the coolest thing.. he was still finding green leprechaun foot prints by the afternoon and he kept commenting on how they drove his cars around and how funny he thought that was. Then he put all the pennies into a pile on the coffee table like it was the coolest thing ever.

It was really fun!! Scarlett thought that it was pretty silly to see her little brother run around picking up green foot prints and pennies all the while laughing and giggling like a crazy man haha :)

It was a really great st paddy's day - I had to work that day and I did in fact remember to wear green :)

Scarlett turned 3 months old on March 3rd!! She is such a big girl now! haha - she is so cute, talking, laughing, and sleeping better and better at night :)

Her favorite thing right now is sleeping in her swing and on dadda, watching Boston be crazy, and to do some inch worms on the floor. She is so precious and cute and is feeling so much better now that we have her food situation all figured out. She seems to like the babysitter and the babysitter really loves her and says that she is such an easy baby - so that's a good thing :)

These pictures make me laugh - Boston was being so cute and watching Andy shave and trim his beard and decided that he would let dadda put shaving cream on his face. Then shortly after he had it on his face he was whinning to get it off because, in his words, "it burns!!". I guess the menthol in the shaving cream was making his face burn - even though it actually makes it feel cool :) - The other picture was me trying to take a picture of Boston in the morning when he came in and I was just finishing feeding Scarlett. He doesn't really like to take pictures lately and does his weird smile - but here he was playing a shy game with me and I couldn't resist not taking a picture of him.. haha he's so silly :)

Family Party and Back to work!!

My Brother, Yury came into town for a visit from Seattle, WA and while he was in town on business we got together for a family dinner and to celebrate Tate's Birthday :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TATE!! It was really great to see everyone, even Chandy and Casey came up from Plain City to celebrate and see Yury. Chandy just had her Gaul Bladder out the week before the celebration so she wasn't quite 100% yet. Yury seemed to really be enjoying himself in Seattle and liked his new office and the people that he worked with. It seems like a really nice place to live and I wouldn't mind living there :)

Here is my dad and Yury hanging out talking after dinner was over. It's so much fun just to sit around and talk with everyone, to laugh and tease each other. It really was a great night and we sure to miss Yury and Caryn and their kids!!

So back to work I goooooo... da da da.. it was really hard going back to work the first week.. and well, still is hard. It's hard to keep focus at work when all I want to do is know what's going on at home with the kids at night. We found a new babysitter, her name is Danielle. She has two twin boys that are 4 years old (Logan and Jayde) and then two older girls that are both in school all day 7 and 9 I believe. By the looks of their room they are really into Hannah Montana :) haha silly girls. I wonder what crazy thing Scarlett and Boston will be in when they get a little older.

The first day dropping Scarlett and Boston off was really hard.. My mom called me on the way to work and I almost lost my nerve.. turned around and said screw this madness!!! But I held my wits and got to work in one piece with only a few tears shed. Sad that you have to leave such little tiny things to be looked after by some stranger in hopes that all will go well and nothing horrible will happen while you're gone. But on the up side of things, I have a job and I have income coming in and I am grateful for that!! It was hard to go back to work, I have a new manager and a couple new members on the team. Things have of course changed a lot, including processes and policies. So needless to say, I am still catching up on some things, but other things came back to me really quickly and I was happy for that.

I don't know what his deal is, he must think that he looks cute doing this or maybe he thinks it's funny that mom gets mad at him when he does it.. grrr

Once again... Boston butting in and giving me that AWESOME smile.. hahaha - as you can see from Scarlett's expression, she thinks he a pretty big dork too.

New outfits, new jammies, and a new hair cut

Scarlett got some new clothes this week, you can kind of see them in the pictures towards the bottom. The froggy princess outfit. Boston got some new jammies in the mail from his aunt Crista. They are super cute and he loves them. He loves to get mail from his favorite aunt. Boston also got a new hair cut this week. I guess the long shaggy look is just never going to take. haha

The twins boys, Logan and Jayde, that Boston plays with while being babysat, let him borrow this little skate board for a day. So he had to get all of his knee pads and elbow pads on and skate around the house. It was so cute and he had so much fun. Now when he sees things on T.V. where people are doing skateboarding tricks, he thinks that they are cool!! It might be something fun for him to do this summer - maybe a Easter present?!?!

Scarlett just had her 2 month check up this morning and she is getting pretty big :) She's almost as big as Boston was at birth now haahah.. crazy. She is at 8 lbs 7 oz and is now a little over 21 inches long. So she's really long and pretty skinny still. I think that the only reason that she actually weighs as much as she does is because I just moved her over to formula and she is now actually getting a little bit more fat on her (thank goodness!!) Even though the fomula is harder on her belly and makes it hard for her to poop, she's getting bigger and sleeps better and is in general a better, happier baby girl :) - The doctor said that she's doing really well and that she has really good neck strength in holding up her head and that she has really great lungs - probably she was crying the entire time he was poking her with his tools hahaha. Maybe he had cold hands or something.

At the pediatricians they have the little bed that you set the babies up on and along the back of the bed (on the wall) they've put a wall, so when the babies are laying down they can see themselves in the mirror. Scarlett thinks that this is the coolest thing and gets pretty happy when she sees herself and feels the crunchy paper under her naked back and legs. The Doctor, Doctor Mumford, tells Boston that he has to watch the horses out the window to make sure they don't run away. This distracts Boston just long enough to be able to talk to me about what's going on and how things are. Boston asks Dr. Mumford at least 50 questions before we leave and he is extremely patient and kind to Boston and his social nature :)

Today I turned two months old and here are a couple of things that I'm doing :)

- I'm able to hold my head up pretty well for a short period of time.

- I'm able to roll my body to the side and from the side onto my back, I'm a pretty strong little girl.

- I am starting to talk a little bit.

- My favorite place to be right now is my changing table or anywhere in my own bedroom. I just talk and smile and get so excited.

- I attrack all sorts of attention from my big brother. He loves to crawl all over me, sit under my play mat with me and make fun of my crying. Sometimes this hurts my feelings and makes me cry harder. Momma tells me just to ignore him and he'll stop trying to bug me, but it's really hard to do :)

- I have to get my immunization shots tomorrow and I'm a little scared but I'm excited to find out how much I weigh and how much bigger I am.

Best Day Ever!!

Let me just start with saying that I had gotten about 2 hours of sleep in the night because Scarlett was having belly issues.. poor little thing, she just couldn't get comfortable :( - So Boston was going crazy, I think that he's so sick of being stuck inside the house and not doing really anything but listening to Scarlett cry and playing games with mom when she has a second. So I decided to save both of our sanity's that we would go to McDonalds to let him play and get some of his energy out. The plan was to go there after his nap... So I got him all ready for his nap at 11:30 am which is a little early for him. But he was so tired that I thought it would be alright. I got him in bed and everything and he came out 4 times saying different things like I slept ... after 2 minutes of being in his room.. he did that twice and then the other two times were to either go potty or to get a drink. UGHHH, so I gave up on the nap because I was already so frustrated with him that he didn't just stay in his bed.. so I decided that he would have to take a nap after McDonalds because I had clearly excited him to much about going to McDonalds when he woke up that he couldn't relax and sleep.. Note to self - when going to McDonalds, either go after the nap or wait to tell the child that we are going to go there after the nap has already taken place..

So we get to McDonalds.. he's all excited and runs to the play area and rips off his shoes throws them in the shoe holder thing and starts running around in the tubes.. He comes and finds me while I'm ording our food and is all smiles and looks so cute that I just can't help but forget about the napping issues. He is such a cute little boy.. He helps me take his drink to the table and then asks for me to help him go down the big slide. He has already gone down the big slide all on his own before but it had been a while so I think that's why he was a little apprehensive about going again.. I told him over and over again that he could do it all on his own and there was no way I was going to go in those discusting tubes BLECK!!! So I told him to make friends and to follow there and figure out how to go down the slide. So he made friends with two little boys there. There were also a group of girls probably 4 or 5 years old and there were about 3 of them running around pretending to be some form of disney princess.. calling eachother by princess names.. 'Princess Bell', 'Princess Ariel'.. hahaha it was was really cute and I then pictured Scarlett doing that when she was older and how cute I would think she was being.. haha silly girls. Boston was running around like a mad man with these two boys.. some how Boston had talked these boys into being super heros and they would go up into this room (see picture) and tell the girls that they weren't allowed in there because they weren't boys and then they would proceed to tell the girls that they were Batman and Iron Man and Spider Man hahah.. the girls were getting upset because the boys were literally not letting the girls enter the room so that they could go down the big slide. This was so cute to watch and funny and I had never seen him exclude girls before like that so it was pretty funny.

I called him down to eat some of his happy meal... he comes down and goes to sit my me and dumps all of our food all over the floor as shown here... this is after I had already cleaned up most of the food and cleaned off the chicken nugget sauce off the diaper back an my shoe :(

After all was said and done, we lived and actually I didn't have to go buy any new food because none of the actual food opened up or touched the ground.. just this sauce and the fries were all effected. The other parents around me kept giving me looks of sympathy so I'm sure that they have all gone through something similar. Accidents happen, I was just already so tired and stressed from a day of him not wanting to listen or mind or do really anything but chase Rex around all over the house screaming at the top of his lungs and talking back like a 15 year old teenager. I thought that came later and I thought only girls would talk back like that.. Boys are not void of this terrific talent, so be warned :)

Needless to say, this was him on the way home from there.. We actually stayed and let him play for about two hours. Scarlett slept in her car seat the entire time and the only thing I wished I would've done was take a book to read. Instead I watched the kids do silly things and wished that I was tiny like that again, to be so uninhibited and free to imagine anything and not look like a complete nut for doing so. I'm sure if you found a group of adults calling eachother by super hero and princess names, that they might get a few strange looks hahaha, can you imagine.

The ABC's of having a new baby!!

A - is for ALMOST, as in - I was almost able to get enough sleep last night and Scarlett Almost went down for a nap until Boston came in screaming about something.
B - is for BABY, Boston has decided to become a baby since we brought Scarlett home. He goes around speaking baby and searching for his binki and bottle - a common thing for kids to get new babies in the house.
C - is for CAREFUL, since Boston loves to get in Scarlett's face and talk to her and touch her eyes and nose and mouth.... BE CAREFUL Boston as become a common phrase in our house
D - is for DIAPERS, since we go through about 30 diapers a day with Scarlett. Unless you're dadda and then she will just pee all over her clothes and changing pad instead of in the diaper :)
E - is for ENERGY, which is what I wish I had :).... Boston is so active and Scarlett is so demanding right now that I wish I had just a little more energy to help me get some things completed before I have to go back to work.
F - is for FORGETFUL, since it seems that since Scarlett has been born that both Andy and I have forgotten so many things. Some of them include - losing our USB modem, car keys, books, tools, Boston's toys, etc.
G - is for GIRLY, it's been really fun getting all things girly.
H - is for HOW THE HELL... as in Boston, how the hell did you get water all over the entire bathroom floor and how the hell did you eat all of that candy in one day?
I - is for ILLUSIONS, I think that both Andy and myself will begin seeing Illusions if we don't get more sleep!!
J - is for JOKER, since Boston now likes to go around saying, "I'm so serious!" (I know that it's not the real saying, but Boston has made it all his own... one of the lines in the new Batman - Dark Knight movie
K - is for KINDNESS, so many people have helped us out with so many things and have come to visit us - showing us their support and love. There's nothing more that a family could wish for :)
L - is for LOVE, Andy said that he didn't know if he could love another kid as much as he loves the Boston and Scarlett already has him wrapped around his little finger :) We all love her so much and are so grateful for her.
M - is for MONEY, which I wish we had more of :)
N - is for NURSING, which I've been successful at this time around. Although it has been really challenging at times and worried me a little bit, it has been going well. One down side is that Andy can't feed her :(
O - is for "OOPS, it was and accident" - which is Boston's favorite new saying when he does anything naughty and intentional. He thinks that if he says, "Oops, it was an Accident" that he can get away with murder.
P - is for POOP, which Andy has become very familiar with since the birth of Scarlett. If you ever want a reason to NOT get a dog, then just imagine cleaning up poop and puked up poop from a dog named Rex every time you come home from spending time with your new precious baby girl.
Q - is for QUIET, please just give me some quiet!!!!
R - is for REFLUX, poor Scarlett has had really bad reflux which has caused her to be really sensitive, gassy, and sleepy.
S - is for SCOOTER, which is what Santa brought Boston for Christmas this year. Since it's been too cold and snowy to ride it outside, he's been riding it around the kitchen and running into walls, into Rex, and my favorite into my heels and toes!!! Thank goodness for Scooters and Santa :)
T - is for TIME, I really wish that I could slow time, it's already been a month since Scarlett was born and it's gone by so fast.
U - is for UNDERSTANDING, Andy has been so understanding through all of the crazy mood swings that I've gone through both during my pregnancy and after. It's hard to have a new baby and to have your body all broken and hurting. I wanted to give my husband and great big thank you for being so understanding and compassionate :)
V - is for VIDEO GAMES, which Boston is currently begging us to play with him.
W - is for WINTER, which I'm so entirely sick of that I could puke. The vacation channel has been viewed on more than one occasion so I could mentally get out of the snow and put myself onto a nice white sandy beach :)
X - is for X-MAS, Scarlett's first x-mas was extremely nice, we didn't do much or really get much, but having her here with us was really all that we could ask for and want this year. She is healthy and strong and soooooo precious!
Y - is for YELLING, which I've decided to work on as a New Year's resolution. I tend to raise my voice to get Boston's attention and I don't want to be known as a yeller - I need to take more time with Boston in talking with him and actually going to him to get his attention instead of yelling in his direction.
Z - is for ZOO, this place that used to just have one child roaming around being destructive will now have two. I love having two kids, but wow, it's a really big change. If it's not Boston crying or whining it's Scarlett screaming at the top of her lungs because her brother has just screamed or threw something and it startled her from sleep.

OHH man I'm so huge!!!

Big Brother Boston is already so much in love with his little sister! He was a little worried about mom at first and a little hard to handle when he came back home from grandma's house but he's under control and adjusting well :)

Lots of people came to visit us while we were in the hospital. It's so nice to have so much support and love surrounding us on these kinds of days.
